The Montgomery County ‘ID Required’ Chronicles: Free Computer (Part 1)

Part one in a multi-post series about what you need a Photo ID for in Montgomery County, Maryland, particularly if you want to participate in society or just get “freebees” from local government.

Remember – this is a County run by elected officials in Rockville and represented in Annapolis by people such as State Senator Cheryl Kagan (Democrat, representing parts of Rockville), who do not believe Photo ID is necessary for identity validation during in-person voting on sacred election day.  These same elected officials, (at the time of this writing, belonging to the Democratic Party), also appear to agree with the view (espoused by an entity called Common Cause Maryland) that signature verification efforts and controls on mailed-in ballots, proposed in 2022 and 2023 by some MD lawmakers, are “trying to solve a problem that doesn’t really exist.”  Nothing to see here, just move along.

Let’s get to our first example.  Want a “free” computer?  You’re in luck!

There is one thing you must have, however, to get a “free” computer in MoCo by your masters in government.  Yes, Photo ID!

“This is how we enforce providing ONE computer per person.”

Fascinating.  Enforcement, presumably against fraud and abuse, by requiring a photo ID and in-person verification.

More examples to come!
