MCEA in Violation of Election Laws

Today, via its Twitter account, MCEA teased the release of a social media toolkit to support the BOE candidates that it has endorsed.

The image along with recent other images of their endorsed candidates constitutes political campaigning and is failing to comply with the requirements of MD’s State Election laws, specifically Chapter 12 that outlines the requirements for campaign literature.

The Apple Ballot is a very strong endorsement and has been an integral part in ensuring that certain candidates get elected to the Board of Education.

Candidates are able to leverage a large war chest of money and are promoted through MCEA’s political action arm.  Why isn’t perhaps the largest influencer in Board of Education elections playing by the rules?!?!

Here are additional campaign material, produced by MCEA that are in violation of chapter 12.
