One of the additions to MCPS’s Benchmark Curriculum for 2022-23 was the inclusion of several books to further LGQBT. And though MCPS offers curriculum nights where you can drive to a central location and view the full curriculum, many parents do not have the luxury of doing this. MCPS has not provided any other mechanism for parents to understand when theses books will be taught or how they would be taught. It was hard for parents to even know what the books were.
Via an anonymous submission, we have received a listing of the LGQBT books that were recently added as part of the curriculum as well as a description of how they will be taught in the classroom.

Each school is supposed to provide parents a notification prior to these being taught with an option to opt-out; however, it seems many school administrators are still scrambling to understand MCPS’s requirements.
